WWE Monday Night Raw

Monday Night Raw saw the announcement of three Hell in a Cell matches for the Hell in a Cell PPV. For the first time in history, a Women’s match will be contested inside the Hell in a Cell structure as Sasha Banks defends her newly won Women’s championship against Charlotte in a fierce rivalry between the two. Last week on Raw, for the first time in over 10 years, a Women’s match main evened Raw and it delivered. Both Charlotte and Sasha Banks gave it there all in front of 13,000+ at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles. We witness Sasha become a 2 time RAW Women’s Champion. The chemistry between the two is outstanding. The matches they put on together are main event worthy of any PPV and I’m glad that they are continuing to break barriers within the WWE. It’ll be interested to see how the match plays off inside Hell in a Cell.

The second match to be contested inside Hell in a Cell will be for the WWE Universal Championship as Seth Rollins gets his rematch against Kevin Owens. Ever since Seth Rollins got screwed by his former mentor Triple H, we’ve seen a new side of Seth Rollins, a side that many wrestling fans will call ‘babyface’. In the main event of Raw last night, we saw Rollins face off against Chris Jericho. If Jericho had won, he would’ve been in the championship match thus making it a triple threat match. Rollins had Jericho beat with a roll up and then soon after, he faced a beatdown from Kevin Owens. The partnership between Jericho and Kevin Owens is one that has worked out perfectly. It’s pretty much funny meets serious when it comes to them two.

The third match that will be contested inside the demonic structure will be Roman Reigns vs Rusev for the United States Championship. This is one match I am looking forward to a lot! Ever since Reigns had his suspension, he has been pushed to the mid-card which is something that will work for him. Fans feel as if he has been shoved down their throat continuously. With a US title run, just maybe, the WWE Universe may start to like him now. Pairing him up against Rusev & Lana was the smart thing to do. Their last few encounters have proved to be quite entertaining especially on last night’s Raw. We saw Reigns and Sasha Banks team up against Charlotte and Rusev in good match. A ferocious spear from Reigns to Rusev whilst Charlotte was tapping out to Sasha gave the fans an entertaining matchup.

Paul Heyman made his return to WWE TV to promote a future match between Brock Lesnar and Goldberg. That’s right, Bill Goldberg! It’s been a while since Goldberg was on WWE TV and we won’t have to wait any longer.

A match between Lesnar & Goldberg will happen, the question is when? Survivor Series looks like an option, but you cannot rule out the Royal Rumble. 60,000+ fans in the Alamodome in Texas seems the best choice. Goldberg did state in an interview on ESPN Sports Centre that he’s had surgery on his knee. Putting his recovery time and training into the mix, it would seem as if WWE would put the matchup at Royal Rumble.
